Installation

  • No, you must first paint it with a primer-sealer. 

  • Yes, however, you must first clean it with TSP (tri sodium phosphate) to remove all surface residues.  To ensure a strong adhesion, we recommend you repaint it with a primer-sealer.

  • Yes, if the existing tiles are smooth, clean and free of surface contamination.

  • No, you must remove the wall paper, glue and repaint the it wall with a primer-sealer.

  • Yes, on decorative walls or behind sinks etc, but not on shower or bathtub walls where water will be splashed on the wall.

  • Using a carpenter’s square and utility knife with a sharp new blade, cut twice pressing firmly, then place the cut line over a pencil and press down to “snap” the tile.  For simple straight cuts, use the “score & snap” method as follows: For curved, compound and more complicated cuts, use a jigsaw or handsaw.

  • No, tiles should not be installed within 8” (205mm) of hot surfaces or open flames.

  • Use a regular “high speed” type drill bit.

  • Use an “aluminum tile trim” that is made for ¼” (6mm) thick ceramic wall tiles.  Several different profiles of aluminum trims are available as shown below.  They are available from Rona and other renovation type stores. See images.

  • Use a kitchen and bathroom grade clear or white silicone.  Apply a thin 1/16” to 1/8” wise continuous bead.

Care & Maintenance

  • Use glass or countertop cleaning products like Windex®, Purell®, Lysol®, Clorox® etc, with a cloth or paper towel.

  • Do not use abrasive type cleaning products or abrasive scrubbing pads.
